A Smart Lock That Uses Your Finger as Your Key

Loss of grip strength, decreased range of motion, arthritis, and hand tremors are things that can make opening a front door difficult for an aging-in-home senior.   Round knobs can be hard to grip while keys can be problematic to align and turn (to lock/unlock).   Switching to a lever-style door handle helps, but alternatives to a key lock are usually expensive or require memorizing a code.

The Ultraloq Combo by U-tec is an easy-to-use, lever-style, smart lock that incorporates all the latest technology (entry via biometric fingerprint identification, a contactless key fob, or a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone).   Where this lock excels over its competitors, however, is that the door lock works in conjunction with the deadbolt, and a single touch is all that is needed to unlock both.
