Advanced Health and Fall Monitoring
When an elderly parent reaches the point where health issues or living alone raises concerns over their safety and welfare, families will often look to technology for help. Fortunately, cameras and personal emergency buttons have ceded to monitoring systems that now use advanced sensors (radar, thermal, audio, IR, etc.) to detect room presence, falls, and even vital sign information.
Tellus is a small plug-in device that mounts to any wall or ceiling and provides monitoring coverage for an entire room. Using precise radar signals, it can tell when a person is present in the room, their location, and their movements. When the user is asleep, it can also track key vital sign information like heart rate, respiration patterns, and sleep quality.
The sensor isn’t affected by temperature or adverse lighting conditions and can trigger an emergency alert to caregivers even if the user is incapacitated. Although the Tellus system isn’t widely available just yet, its monitoring abilities provide the safety and health features needed and in a way that both seniors and their families can appreciate.
