Google Sleep Sensing - Nest Hub (2nd Gen)
Touchless Sleep Tracking Made Easy
Sleep is a crucial part of successful aging. It's when the immune system recharges and your body and mind rejuvenate after a long day. Because older adults are often challenged by sleep issues (due to decreased melatonin production, medications, or chronic pain), getting the quality sleep they need isn’t just about time spent in bed or taking naps during the day.
Although other devices track sleep quality, none are as accurate or as easy to use as the Google Nest Hub (Gen 2) smart display. Placed near the bed and without the need for cameras or wearables, their “Sleep Sensing” feature uses radar to detect sleep movements, microphones to listen to breathing rhythms (or snoring), and temperature and light sensors to further differentiate between time spent in bed and actual sleep.
Because sounds are recorded (you can turn the mic off) for analysis, this sensitive part of the data is only kept and analyzed on the device to ensure privacy, and full sleep data can be reviewed and deleted at any time. The Sleep Sensing feature is a service of the Google Nest Hub (Gen 2) and is currently free. It offers accurate sleep tracking as well as detailed suggestions on how to improve sleep quality which makes it a worthwhile product for seniors with sleep challenges.
